Cotton pads soaked in rose water can do wonders for your dark circles. These will need to rest over your eyes for 15 minutes or so, so sit back and enjoy some music. Rose water has a soothing effect on the eyes and is also know to rejuvenate the surrounding skin. Although significant results may take a week or more, it’s a delightful habit to get into that will reduce future incidents.
5. Almond Oil
Almond oil is a wonderful natural ingredient that has many healthy properties for hair and skin, especially that delicate skin around the eyes. Regular application of almond oil tackles dark circles head-on. Dab a little on just before bed and leave it overnight – you’ll be amazed at what you see come morning.
6. Lemon Juice
Jam-packed with vitamin C, known to possess bleaching properties, this common ingredient could be your secret weapon in the war against dark circles. Already a component in some of the above remedies, lemon juice can also work well on its own when applied gently to the offending region. Give it a try, and figure out what gives the best results for your unique skin.
Apples are a great source of tannic acid, which is known to lighten skin tone. They also contain potassium and the water-soluble vitamins B and C, which provide the delicate skin around the eye with some much-needed nourishment. Cut a ripe apple into thick pieces and place the slices directly over your closed eyes. Let them sit for half an hour, then rinse off with cool water and apply some under-eye cream. If sitting perfectly still isn’t your cup of tea, some prefer to make a paste of boiled green apple and apply it in the same fashion – this gives you a bit more wiggle room without fretting about the wedges falling.
